This is a fun game and the graphics really put it over the top. The wrestlers look so real.
 TNA Impact is a Solid First Game in the Series November 13, 2008
TNA Impact is a good game for a video game wrestling fan. I have played every Smackdown game and they have had their ups and downs. For a first attempt, this TNA Impact game is really good. It has a solid story mode. It is easy to pick up. It has good variety of arenas, etc., TNS superstars etc.
Nitpickers will talk about each wrestler not having enough unique moves, and technical comparisons, etc., but this is a good game. I would not trade it for SVR but be fair - SVR is in its 10th edition or something like that. I am excited to see what TNA Impact 3 looks like in a couple years if people would calm down and simply enjoy the game. I think a price cut going into the holidays with SVR coming out is a good idea; but give this one a chance and enjoy!

Graphics are good, gameplay sucks!! not enough moves or characters!!! Dont waste your money!!! Gameplay is way to easy!! i beat story mode in a weekend!!

The Good:
* A compelling storyline that lets you build your own character.
* Competitive Multiplayer.
* Awards for wrestling in style forces you to use different moves.
* Ultimate X Match is a great addition to a wrestling game.
The bad:
* Frustratingly cheap computer at times.
* NO TNA Knockouts.
The Bottom Line:
Thirsty for wrestling? Give this title a try. This game actually awards you for wrestling in style instead of using same move over and over again(button-mash) to beat your opponent. While the Story Mode is fun, there are moments where you will want to throw the control through your flat screen(please don't!) Even on easiest level, it took me literally hours to defeat certain wrestlers. I know that Samoa Joe is great but how fair is that when all he needs to do is hit a finisher on me once while I had to perform 4 finishers and unleash 16 chair shots on him just to barely beat him? The Story Mode doesn't end your game experience. Once you are done, give online a try. Despite minor glitches, the online play went smoothly. If you are a wrestling fan, you will definitely enjoy this title.
THA slams onto your XBOX 360. Not perfect, but a good start. September 25, 2008
Yeah, so you have read the other reviews that are negative, I especially love the ones that complain about the lack of superstars in the game. Yeah, if you can't be happy with 25 wrestlers to choose from, I don't know what the problem is. The game is well done. I know it is missing things, but so are most "Firsts" in a series. TNA Impact! Tries to do a few things here that have not been done in wrestling games in a long time. It is true, if you are a button masher used to Tekken or Mortal Kombat, this game is not for you. However, if you want to think and take the time to learn how to play the game and master its awesome grappling engine, you are in for a treat. Instead of the constant button mashing that most wrestling, or fighting titles for that matter, have, TNA IMPACT! will reward you with some awesome moves if you learn how to control the game. It's not clumsy or off key, you just can't slam buttons nonsensically and expect the game to just go into a frenzy of blissful non exsistant motion. if you push "Kick", you can't one second later push punch and then kick and then punch and then run and grapple and then kick and then punch and then, well you get the picture. This is not Raw VS Smackdown. The controls are just fine, just don't expect to be a sloppy gamer and enjoy the game. You have to learn them to enjoy the game.
The graphics are nice and clean and look pretty well done after the characters on the roster that are featured here. Not really a surprise in this department. The sound is good, although the comentary gets a bit repetitive, however this is a problem with all wrestling games that feature comentary and don't try and pretend that it's not either. Basically it is a well put together package, especially Ultimate X. This mode makes the game especially awesome. Ultimate X is very fun and can continue to keep you entertained.
The downside to the game are the fact that the belts are not featured here, although they are brought up. I still don't understand that one myself. There is a lack of original modes for TNA as well, however, if Midway does do a sequel, I will buy it and hope that they add more to the game. As a first go at the genre though, Midway did a pretty good job. Check the game out, itis better than the reviewers are giving it.
