Great and challenging! April 10, 2008 All those game review sites were wrong about this game, especially ign. This features a wide array of ford vehicles, some with great speed and some with low speed. It has a championship mode with lots of cups! As you play through the mode it gets more challenging. If you're a huge fan of racing games then I suggest you get this game!
Nice game March 19, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I'm not much of a gamer. I like easier games. This game was on my level and very fun!
Surprisingly good January 29, 2007 I figured a game devoted to one make of car would be less than other racing games. Surprisingly, the graphics are good. The biggest surprise of all though is the handling. It is remarkably realistic. Driving a '68 Mustang is completely different than a later model.
It is also refreshing to play a racing game that doesn't try to superimpose a storyline onto gameplay that doesn't really need one.
All in all, this game is definitely a must have for anyone who loves racing games and a fun game for anyone who enjoys good games.
Extreme Aggravation March 27, 2006 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Turn the game on and you first think, "Hey, this looks cool". Boy are you in for a fight. The graphics are really good and so are the sound effects. This is where the fun ends. Every race is like racing a car or truck on a solid sheet of ice. Oh, different cars have different handling but this entire game is rediculous. It probably wouldn't be so bad except for the fact that when your car goes around a corner (at the same speed as all the other cars) you have two choices. 1. You can use your brakes and slow down or 2. you can NOT use brakes and slide all over the place. Either of which results in the other cars leaving you behind. It is possible to win races but at the expense of losing feeling in your thumb. This game is nothing but work. I would say five percent fun and ninetyfive percent work. Over all the worst thing is the attempt at making the cars handling too realistic. You're not just fighting to win. You're fighting just to keep the car on the road. I can understand a challenge but this is rediculous. Another bonus. I chose to race in easy mode so I could just have some fun. As you progress, the game forces you to race in "Hard" mode whether you like it or not. Thank God I just paid $1.98 for a used version. Gee, I wonder why it was only that price?
TONS of different racing styles with all different cars March 7, 2006 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Wow, where do I start? I am more of a racer gamer as that's what I do in real life and it doesn't take 12 buttons to play. The graphics are crisp, the sound effects are very accurate from the screaming of the 4 cylinder concept rally car to the lopey, deep V8 sounds of the mustangs and trucks(also some tach up quicker than others, nice touch of variety that they don't all sound or react alike). There are SO many different races. There is a ford "challenge" where you compete in arcade type races such as points for driving over the green stars, deducted points for the red stars(which are right next to the greens and can be easily slid into) and there is a ford "competition" mode that is more realistic car racing. The "challenge" mode unlocks many cool cars that I've never even heard of, concept cars that are very rare but if you are a FORD guy(which I'm a big 3 guy, like any of dodge, chevy or ford products), you HAVE to get this game, especially at the reasonable price. It has cars from 73 mach 1, 72 ranchero GT, gran torino's, lightning trucks, concept lightning, a variety of trucks and t-birds and mustangs(even the newest bodystyle of 2004). There are environmental challenges present in every race of the "challenge"; NONE take place all on concrete. Some are in snow, some gravel, some sand- generally a mix is present in every race and they even have some jumps and streams of water for the trucks. I highly recommend this game due to the variety, the huge collection of different races to play AND the ability to adjust them EASY, NORMAL, or HARD. The detail is crisp, action is fast and lifelike(having to incorporate powerslides into some of the S-turns and alternate throttle, brake or a little of each). What have you got to lose at the price of a fast-food meal- BUY IT!
