Product Description NBA LIVE 09 is back. It rewrites the book on authenticity and connectivity - but is still accessible enough for new users. Dynamic DNA emulates - with absolute precision - an NBA player in every sense of the word. NBA LIVE 365 takes the statistical data of Dynamic DNA and brings it to life. Just like the real NBA game, players get injured, free agents sign late, great players go cold and no-names break through.
Player DNA Progression - see the progress and changes to any player's DNA after an NBA LIVE 365 update Player Tendencies - the percentage a player drives left, right or shoots from each spot on the floor Lockdown Control - risk reward system FIBA Expanded - compete in an international tournament using authentic FIBA rosters and a choice of 24 teams Pick and Roll Control - control both the ball handler and the screener 5 vs. 5 Online Team Play - All 10 players on the court can now be controlled by users on 10 different consoles around the world Signature Playcalling - pushes on-court visualization to guide you through the play Online Leagues 2.0 - Create your own league with drafting, trades and a custom playoff format NBA Academy - hone your skills Create your own highlight reel then upload it to EA SPORTS World Quickstrike AnkleBreakers - Force your defender to step up and guess what you'll do next On the cover - Tony Parker - In his 7 NBA seasons, the 26 year old is a two-time NBA All-Star, has 3 NBA championships and was named the 2007 NBA Finals MVP

365 is great, but gameplay is still choppy November 9, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've played the Live series off-and-on since 96', and think that the gameplay just hasn't been the same in the last few years, especially compared to the 2K series.
I have 2k8 and have played 2k9 and they just feel more fluid; the gameplay is faster, the controls are more responsive, and 2k is simply more fun.
The good with NBA Live 09' - The 365 is awesome. It is great to have constantly updated rosters, the hot and cold streaks, and the ability to play recent game. This is the only thing that I will miss when I dump NBA Live for 2k9; - The graphics in the game are great, I can't complain; and - The DNA is a neat twist, though I think it makes the game a little more complicated than I care for personally.
The bad - Still not even close to 2k9 in terms of gameplay. The game feels choppy, everything seems to have a lag, and it's just not that fun. - The game takes forever to load. It takes like 5 minutes to get into a game and the training stuff doesn't really help kill time; - The commentary is repetitive and feels very canned. There is barely anything outside of the beginning of the game--no real halftime show or anything--and it's annoying it takes so long to load; and - The shooting feels awkward.
Best NBA live to date and most improved basketball videogame. October 31, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've been a fan of NBA live from SNES to the original PlayStation, but since the PS2 came the 2K series put them (Live series) totally down. Even in the next gen consoles, the NBA 2K series really still lead (up to 2K8). But I could say that NBA Live '09 won this time, why?; 1st, the animation really improved a lot; 2nd, the graphics really improved too; 3rd, the gameplay; 4th, the new features (which i don't really have time to explain cos I have to play the game after I make this brief review, lol) which includes the DNA thingy (which is kind of interesting); and of course the Online Play is smooth and fun to play, including the Be a Pro feature which let you control one player or position then will rate you how you did in the game with that particular position. What I'm trying to say is you should give this game a chance. I saw in almost every forum, NBA 2K9 wins, which i can't really blame them cause even me I'm a big fan of 2K series but I'm telling you this game made it this year. Just at least rent this game first before you buy it to say what I'm talking about.
Great Game October 23, 2008 THIS IS A MUST BUY!!!2 Thumbs up.....great graphics.better than 2k9.the only good thing about 2k9 is the basketball court itself. the wood looks so realistic, but if you care about the actual game nba live 09 is the way to go.It has a better pre game presentation, instead of a boring main menu, you can practice at the beginning. I WILL WARN YOU THOUGH.....YOU CAN ONLY USE THE 365 FEATURE FOR ONE PS3 ONLY. AN ACTIVATION CODE WHICH COMES WITH THE GAME IS NEEDED TO ACTIVATE 365. IT ONLY WORKS ON ONE PS3.
Solid Effort. October 11, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
EA has vastly improved this year's version of Live. As the previous reviewer stated, the graphics and announcing are amazing. I think the 365 feature will be amazing as well once the season gets started (it may bump the game to a 5 star level). The only complaint is the players lack of continuation to the basket on some fast breaks and the somewhat "plodding" nature of some player movements. I have owned 2K and Live over the last several years. All in all, this version is a solid 4 star effort by EA (4.5 - 5 star depending on how 365 works).
Alright game, but NEEDS better improvements! October 9, 2008 4 out of 7 found this review helpful
The graphics in this game are amazing!! The commentating is awesome.... but when it comes down to gameplay, thats where the game is kinda funny..
The players move to stiff, and aren't fluent enough. I constantly have a fast break and a guy open for a long pass. As soon as I pass it to him, instead of going straight to the bucket, he goes into a triple threat stance, allowing time for the other team to get back to defend!! WTF! This happened to me over numerous occations!
To all the basketball gamers out there, Its probably just better to jump ship and hope on the "NBA2K9" bandwagon! Sorry EA :-( make the games playable, and stop worrying so much about DNA player crap!
