Amazon.com Product Description The American Gardener YardStick cordless edger and trimmer is a great two-in-one yard tool for the homeowner; this battery-powered trimmer converts to a rolling lawn edger with just a turn of the handle using the Quickedge Transition design. The 24-volt Power-Core double ball-bearing motor with Power-Core deep discharge battery will give you up to 45 minutes of cutting time on just one charge. A 10-inch cutting swath makes quick work of yard trimming, and when you need more line, just bump the head and it feeds out more .08 commercial-grade line automatically. We like the symmetry and nice balance of this trimmer in hand, too; it comes with two comfortable grips and a hassle-free start switch. The unit stores in the included wall-mounted charger, which indicates battery status with red and green lights. --Kris Jensen-Van Heste

happy user September 29, 2008 I've been using this trimmer for almost 20 years. Sears used to sell it. I was delighted to find another vendor when Sears let it go. I absolutely love it. It changes from horizontal to vertical (edging) operation with a flip of the wrist. Ideal for keeping a city lawn looking neat.
Fits the bill September 27, 2008 After one season's use, I'm happy with the Yardstick. I'll admit that it's a little heavy, but my yard is small enough that it doesn't matter. It works equally well as an edger or a trimmer. The radius is plenty wide, too, and the line feed is simple. No complaints.
Best trimmer I've had September 26, 2008 This is a nice trimmer! The only problems we've had are that it is kinda heavy and the connectors from the battery have come loose. This is an easy fix; remove the housing and simply reconnect. It is kind of a pain though if you are in the middle of the yard! The edger function works well and leaves a nice clean edge. It is highly recommended!
great tool September 18, 2008 This is the second one of these I have purchased. The battery gave out on the first one after about 5 years. It's a great tool. Lightweight, and the charge lasts plenty long for my purposes. I love it.
A wothwhile add to the tool shed September 17, 2008 Looking for a portable and powerful trimmer for the yard. Got tired of dragging out the extension cords so I read up on this and could not find a reason to not get it. It works wonderful in trimming and edging thanks to the power of the 24V motor and the HEAVY line that it uses. It is a good match for my old 3/4HP electric trimmer. The only trouble I have had is the guard comes off when trimming under bushes and shrubs.
