It Is A Total Waste Of Money October 10, 2008 These things look great when they are working. As someone mentioned they do make a lot of distracting noise,, but beyond that, they are poorly manufactured. I bought a total of 10 of them from two different suppliers, and from each at two different times, depending on who had the best price at the time. One by one they have stopped working until now I have only two out of the ten still working. I have taken a few apart and it looks like water leaks into the electronics and destroys it. Since I have a masters in electrical engineering, I am now trying to redesign them so that they work from real power instead on the noisy water generators. If you buy one, my advise is to take it apart, and coat all electronics with RTV to protect it from the water. If not, plan on it to stop working within a week.
Sounds like an airplane getting ready for takeoff. August 6, 2008 If you are looking for something that you can hook up to a garden hose and let the kids play in then this might be fine, but to use it as an accent fountain for a swimming pool is a joke.
This fountain is very cheaply made and extremely noisy when the pressure is turned up enough to actually make lights work (picture lawn mower, or airplane from a short distance). Perhaps if you are looking for something to drown out other noise this will work for you, but I wanted to hear the sound of water splashing in my pool, not the drone of an airplane.
When you examine one of these things in person it is easy to see that it won't last very long if left out in the sun (i.e. on the edge of a swimming pool). I've only had it sitting outside a couple of weeks and the screws they used on the bottom are already rusting (perhaps the manufacturer should have thought to use stainless steel screws since this is a "Fountain" that is exposed to "Water"). The plastic exterior which resembles stone isn't too bad. Its thin plastic and the seams show, but from 5 feet away it doesn't look horrible. I would bet that the Florida sun will change its appearance pretty quickly, but I'll never know since its going in the trash soon.
Works, but very noisy June 20, 2008 I received the AquaGlow Rainbow fountain yesterday. None of the provided attachments connect to any of my inground return jets, so I connected it to a garden hose. It is very noisy which takes a way any enjoyment of watching the light display.
PRETTY COOL LIGHTED FOUNTAIN February 8, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I BOUGHT THIS FOR MY SISTER'S NEW IN GROUND POOL, NOT KNOWING WHAT TO EXPECT. WHEN THE PACKAGE ARRIVED, I THOUGHT "THIS IS ALOT SMALLER THAN IT LOOKED ON LINE". BUT TO MY SURPRISE, IT'S SMALL, BUT WORKS GREAT. SHE LOVES IT. AND FOR A PRODUCT THAT USES WATER PRESSURE ONLY TO LIGHT UP THE COLORS, IT'S WORKS VERY WELL. THE FOUNTAIN SHOOTS PRETTY FAR, BUT YOU CONTROL BY TURNING THE FAUCET UP OR DOWN. THE COLORS CHANGE, AND ARE PRETTY EFFECTIVE. OVER ALL A VERY GOOD PRODUCT.
Simple and effective July 30, 2007 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
It works well and it displays a nice changing colored rainbow as advertised. I would give a five star if it came with a clear hose to go from the pool to the device and if the water pressure were stronger for a bigger rainbow. The tubes that came with the device did not fit my pool inlets.
