Razer lachesis September 25, 2008 This one is great. As with all Razer products, you will have an entirely new gaming experience with this mouse. Its very lightweight and super sensitive so there is a slight learning curve. Once you have every setting the way you want it,though, your poor enemies will never know what hit them!!!!
Great DPI, irritating mouse. September 14, 2008 This mouse has great DPI. Well, also the right side-buttons are easier to press than my Razer Diamondback's. Also the sensitivity change buttons below the mouse wheel are nice.
Razer's drivers and software are both very buggy, and as far as I can tell they always have been. Ever since I bought my first Diamondback, I have had occasional blue-screens of death due to razer drivers. The same goes for this Lachesis on a fresh install of windows XP.
Right now, my diamondback on my laptop is unable to be configured, and the Lachesis on my desktop glitches out if I set the keystroke '\' to the front right side button (it also takes effect on the lower left AND causes a windows "beep" sound).
The "short" lift off distance of the Lachesis is apparently not enough, because when I lift the mouse, it sometimes moves up to FOUR INCHES across my screen (at maximum DPI). Even if I set the DPI to 1600 (The Diamondback's native DPI), it is significantly worse than my Diamondback.
Also, clicking the buttons causes the pointer to vibrate if the mouse is set to a high DPI.
Possibly the worst part of this mouse is the fact that I bought the Destructor mouse pad for an arm and a leg, hoping to fix some of the issues by fixing the mousing surface. It made no difference except that my wallet got significantly lighter.
In the end, I like the vastly increased sensitivity and the buttons, but the shape of the mouse and the lift-off pointer wandering kind of kill the appeal and any advantage this mouse may have given me over the Diamondback.
Great mice when it works properly. September 14, 2008 The mice likes to jump when it wants to. The best surface to use is something that is white. I used a black surface and blue surface mousepad, both pads would cause the mouse to jump randomly at times. I used a white sheet of paper and the mouse doesn't jump at all. It also jumps around on the Razer Exact Mat too. Razer Support couldn't really help me. If you plan on buying the Lachesis then make sure you buy a white mousepad. I would recommend the Diamondback or the Copperhead over the Lachesis though. The Deathadder is horrible, 3G laser precision is terrible. Don't get any 3G infra-red laser mouses, they just plain suck, make sure you get a true laser mouse instead. I found out the hard way why I couldn't aim precision anymore with the 3G infra-red, it's because my Diamondback used a 1G laser instead of 3G infra-red laser. Somehow the 1G laser is better than the 3G on the Deathadder.
Lachesis Amazingness September 1, 2008 Truly an amazing mouse. Perfect for gaming or designing in Photoshop. 4000 DPI makes the mouse usable on any surface, even my reflective granite counter top. Quite an amazing product.
Great Mouse! July 22, 2008 It is a Great Mouse for gaming.
Only couple minor thing I want to mention about it. 1. I personally prefer a wireless gaming mouse with the quality of Razr Lachesis. I have way too many wires around my computer.
2. I notice this mouse will probably work the best on a Razr mouse pad.
Besides above 2 points, I am very happy about this mouse.
