Product Description Most receivers and TVs simply don?t have enough HDMI inputs to accommodate all of today?s high definition sources. That means HD components are often hooked up with lesser connections, resulting in a loss of performance. For the absolute best picture and sound from your HD cable/satellite receiver, high definition DVD player, PLAYSTATION 3, and more, without the hassle of repeat hookups, connect with the Monster Cable Advanced 3-Way Switcher. The Monster Advanced 3-Way Switcher instantly adds three new HDMI inputs to your entertainment system, so you can hook up all your HD components with the ultimate AV connection. Plus, built-in infrared ?learning? technology allows you to control the switcher with your existing universal remote. Best of all, on-board jitter reduction circuitry corrects signal timing errors so you always experience the sharpest picture, richest color, and highest resolution sound.

Works perfectly for me... August 1, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I purchased this box a couple of weeks ago, because I only have one HDMI port on my TV, and I haven't plunked down the cash to upgrade my home theater receiver to one that has HDMI support yet.
So this seemed to be the perfect "mean-time" solution for me. I have my (BrightHouse) Explorer 8300 HD cable box/DVR connected, as well as my Playstation 3. No use for the 3rd port yet (that's in the works).
Since I use my Yamaha receiver remote to switch between components, that's the one that I used for this switch. I took the included external IR receiver cord and threaded it up to the rack my receiver is on, and placed the sensor right next to the receiver sensor. Now when I switch between the DVR and PS3 on my receiver, the HDMI switch automatically switches to the correct port.
Very nice. This will do perfectly until I decide to buy my next receiver.
Ain't no Monster thing happening here, nadathing..... July 30, 2008 3 out of 6 found this review helpful
Upon input of my PS3, Verizon FIOS HD DVR/Magnavox Box and HDMI output of my Shuttle Box, plugged into a brand new Sony KDL-XBR5, absolutely NOTHING was functional, yah I plugged it in ;p. For one thing, I think the majority of these HDMI Switches do not properly support that dang HDCP protocol, although they specify it, although that it seems to pop up on my cable box the ole HDCP (high definition copy protection...watch out!) non-support flag. They (Box and Cables) all tout their incredbible specs; up to 3.8ghz thoroughput, up to 1080p support, 8-16 bit color, cables even list 10.2gbps sepcs, deep color support, even "signal amplification on the Siig Box", but oh well, aint' happening. On the cable box, pic but no sound, but the rest, flat out nothing. Isolated, I think not, only sporadic reviews on any of these, and either they work or they do not. But all my equip is utilizing HDMI 1.3a, the Siig box touts 1.3b...whoa and I have tried this Monster Switch, and then both the Monoprice HDX-401 and the almost identical SIIG version of this 4x1 HDMI Switch, which all are sitting here in front of me and nothing works. So you technofiles, don't try to tell me it's my cables, I have tried all brands and graded versions, Sony HDMI 1.3 certified/compliant?? , Panasonic RP-CDHG15, and I even the almighty Monster 1000 and NOTHING>>>??? Please tell me I am not crazy, how can I have three defective switches in a row....or what is up with all this? all these questions need to be answered!!....Thought I should tell people before you have to go through the same hell, and pay out the bucks on nonsense. Just let this idiot do it for you.....eeeerrgh!
Good Luck, Please tell me I am not crazy, but HELLLLLLP~! Somebody...
Follow Up: Well..I exchanged for another Monster, I cannot help to think that this might just be a fluke??? Three in a row, yes a Siig, Monoprice and the previous Monster branded HDMI 3-1, with the prior devices being 4-1 switches, in a succession of failed attempts, but I had hope. And, well, this second Monster 3-2ay HDMI Switch worked finially, BUT, the box still seems to just, in mid-viewing, default or switch, on it's own, to the middle or second input, as the first time I tried this it defaulted to the first input, so really this is not what one wants to tolerate in the middle of whatever one might be viewing. So I really think this is an issue with these boxes, either a signal issue, or HDCP issues, something has run amuck. These are high end devices, PS3, Magnavox HD DVR FIOS Cable, nVidia geGorce 8600 video care, I am attempting to use, and all are new and in excellent condition, the Monitor/TV a Sony 3 months old XBR5, and it has given me no problems...My problem, I have it hanging on a wall, and cabling is had been built-in during construction, but one does not cables draped down the wall to ruin that built-in look one has achieved, but has always worked just fine. As well, I have a direct input on the side access to the Sony that just does the same thing for me, so that proves it is just down to the switching devices or just Sony, who knows...
Sorry to run on about this, I know I should just take it back and shut up, but I want people to have the resources I DID NOT HAVE...there is not much out there online blogging in the way of these HDMI 4x1 Switch Boxes, but believe me, when EVERYTHING is going to be HDMI, people are not going to want to initially spill $1200 in a reciever just to do there 3 or 4 inputs into one simple cable solutions..
Thnx for listening....
