Guitar Praise is a variation of a game (similar to the popular Guitar Hero) where you play a guitar to win the game. Instead of playing with traditional rock tracks, Guitar Praise includes over 50 popular devotional rock tracks.
Guitar Praise lets players act out their dreams of leading a rock band by playing along with their favorite Christian rock tunes. As the song and lyrics play, colorful notes scroll down the screen. Players must keep up by matching the notes to the fret buttons on the guitar controller included with the game. Four levels of play are offered?as the player completes songs, more tracks are unlocked and the challenge increases. Guitar Praise features 52 of the most inspirational and pulsating tracks from the Christian rock world, all by the original artists. Today's most popular hits are combined with classics from the 80's and 90's; the playlist includes titles from Flyleaf, Skillet, Stellar Kart, tobyMac, Newsboys, Petra, 12 Stones, Spoken, Whitecross, Thousand Foot Krutch, Paul Baloche, David Crowder, and Red, plus many others.
As players shred through their guitar solos, Guitar Praise records high scores per song. New songs, in sets of five, are unlocked along the way to keep the player's interest. By tilting the guitar, players can activate spinner bonuses; as they increase their skills they can earn new onscreen "guitars" with richer sounds and different effects.

I have played guitar Hero a few times with friends and enjoyed it, but to be honest why would i want to buy a game to play music that i don't even listen to. Like someone else said; Guitar Hero could offer music from some of the more popular Christian rock artists, but they only offer secular music.
I just got the Guitar Praise for Christmas and have been very pleased. Of course the graphics on Guitar Hero are going to be a little more refined, although considering: the graphics are of people dancing around giving the devil horn sign with their fingers!
The whole secular world was backing up the production of Guitar Hero, so wouldn't you expect it to be at least a little more refined than Guitar Praise?
I was not disappointed at all, it took me a little while to figure out how to use and operate everything, but now i absolutely love it. The music is awesome, and there is a big variety, so whether someone enjoys the real heavy rock or softer stuff they have plenty to choose from.

I think people should stop trying to make games like Guitar Hero because the off brand games will never be as good.
Pros:Music I like the Christian music, if you want to think your really good you get more points in this than Guitar Hero
Cons:Background is really boring,you have to play on the computer, when I got mine the guitar green button didn't work, it's kind of difficult to know what buttons to press to change songs and difficulty, the game is really easy, there's no way to pause the game from the guitar, and the game doesn't come with directions.
I think you should just stick with Guitar Hero and if you don't want to hear the lyrics turn them off.

The reason we purchased this game was because of the music. We also have guitar hero and while we like the game, the music is not the best role model I want to portray to my kids. All I can say is keep the good Christian influenced products comming as they are sorely needed in this world.

Look, I don't expect that Digital Praise expected out of the gate to be at the Guitar Hero level. Give the guys a break. For a first release product this unit is incredible. For what its purposed for, getting some Christian Music in the gaming world it is spot on. The songs they picked are excellent, i'm very impressed. Its alright that the graphics are not "blow you out of the chair" quality.
The Quality is in the music and the game play and the fun you can have with your kids without worrying about them hearing about immoral innuendos time and time again.
Can't wait for the Rock Band Clone :D

This game is strictly for the christians, particularly those who LOVE christian music. If you dont meet the bill dont bother, theres a reason why Switchfoot, Flyleaf & Relient K weren't included in rock band or guitar hero and its nothing to do with their subject matter...Jimi, Kurt and Bob all rock much harder.
