Fun in the Sun! August 27, 2008 Great product! My daughter (4yrs old) loves it and has spent countless hours playing with friends on it. It is made of durable material so I'm sure it will withstand the test of time! Fast delivery too!
Well worth the money... August 27, 2008 My husband and I decided that we wanted to buy an inflatable water slide this summer instead of spending a ton of money on a summer vacation and gas to drive there. After researching several different water slides, and reading several reviews, we decided to buy the Banzai Sidewinder Blast Bundle through Amazon (it was less expensize than other sites, and it included a body bord, a beach ball, and two water guns).
Set up the first time is easy. The instructions are a little hard to understand because of the poor english, but not impossible. The best bet is too unroll the slide, hook up the fan, and turn on. It inflates in about 3 minutes, and is pretty impressive right away. We placed a small umbrella over the fan to protect it from the sun, as well as any water drops that might make their way down to the fan. Make sure that it is set up on grass, and get it in as level of a spot as you can. After it is inflated, it is easier to stake down and install the water hose. We found that the water hose had some kinks in it from being packaged, but we were able to undue the kinks after setting it in the sun for a few minutes.
Before you turn the water on, you might want to inspect the slide to see if there are any holes or tears...we didn't experience any. Once the water hose is in place, the two 40 lb water bladders are in place(they serve as anchors), and everything is staked down, your ready to turn the water on and have fun.
The body board that comes with the bundle makes sliding down really fun, and really fast. We had this set up several times throughout the summer, and had kids playing on it ranging from 5 to 15. We even had a few adults sliding on it too, and they had a blast as well. The important thing is to have adult supervision to keep the rough-housing to a dull roar, and keep the dare devils in check. We had some kids who played pretty rough but the slide held up, it didn't tear or rip any where.
We wanted to make the slide last a few times (if not a few summers) so we took care to make sure that it was dry when we put it away. In order to drain the water out of the pool area(the pool comes with a plug, but we found that because of the location and design of the plug, it was near impossible to utilize it and get all the water out), we turned the fan off and let the water spill over the sides and drain out the small sliding area. Just make sure that the water doesn't spill over to where the fan is located. We then turned the fan back on and used towels to wipe the rest of the slide off. We let it dry over night before we put it away. Don't even attempt to use the bag it came in. We purchased a large starage tub ahead of time, and that is were the slide lives when not in use. Make sure the slide is completely dry or you will have a mildew problem that may damage the slide.
All in all I would say that aside from a few design flaws, the slide made for excellent summer fun, and I would recommend this to anyone. Kids of all ages love it! With a little extra care, I see this lasting more than one summer.
Lot's of fun but power won't stay on August 27, 2008 My kids love this toy and so do the neighbors but the blower turns off all the time on them when they are on it so they have to get off real quick before the slide deflates. When the slide is on and noone is on it, the blower never turns off but as soon as the kids start playing on it they are having to constantly run and turn off the water and hold the sides of the slide up so they don't loose all the water in the pool. I called the company to see what they could do and I was told I would have to send a piece in and they would send a replacement if necessary. The problem is since it's the blower, I can't just send a piece in I have to send the whole thing and then my kids are without the slide for the summer. I am hoping that I can send it in soon since summer is almost over and they will still honor the warranty. I tried to fax the company the information they wanted but the number they gave me was always busy.
Sidewinder Slide August 27, 2008 We purchased a Banzai Sidewinder Falls Slide. Although the children absolutely loved the slide, we question its durability. After only two uses the stitching at the bottom of the slide came off, leaving an open seam three inches long. Water began entering the inner portion of the slide, so we had to shut it down. I tried to sew the seam, so we'll see if that works. Not an easy repair.
Backyard Summer Fun August 27, 2008 We purchased the Bonzai Sidewinder for our grandchildren. It was getting late in the season so they've only used it a few times so far, but they are having a great time on it. The only complaint we have is that the top spray tube tends to kink and not much water comes out. We have to readjust it off and on but it is not a huge problem. We like the fact that the pool part of it is nice and big. It does take several adults to empty it and deflate it but that is what we expected. So far, so good.
