 A must have for wooden rail enthusiasts! December 31, 2008
I bought these clips based upon other reviews and I could not be happier! They work exactly as advertised, holding pieces together wonderfully. I used them on the elevated portion of my son's set, and found that I could use less track supports and span longer distances by using these clips. They couldn't be easier!

I purchased a box of this to try with my daughter's Melissa and Doug train-set; now I am purchasing three more boxes. I've never worked with model trains, but I guess that we need a clip for every piece of track because we have to build on carpet. I did find that the instructions didn't tell me everything that I needed to know in order to use the clips easily. You need to slide the clip into place, not snap it into place.
1. Slide the clip completely onto the female piece of track.
2. Place the male piece of track; the clip should not be in the way.
3. Slide the clip back a little so that it is centered over the junction of the two pieces of track.
When I do it that way, it's pretty slick.
Avoid Frustration with Young Station Masters December 30, 2008
I use Suretrack to secure the elevated portions of our Melissa & Doug Deluxe Wooden Railway Set. I wouldn't attempt to set up a track for toddlers without it. Suretrack is incredibly simple to install, yet nearly impossible for my 18-month old to separate. At first I was apprehensive about spending so much on a few pieces of plastic, but I found it's the exceptional design you're paying for, and it's worth every penny.
Without Suretrack, creating bridges and elevated rail is a balancing act. Clumsy toddler hands can easily knock the bridges down, leading to frustrated emotional outburst. I don't think it's necessary to use Suretrack on flat, grounded track, especially if you want to quickly rearrange the lines.

Suretrack is essential to purchase for any wooden trainset to hold it together. I would never purchase a wooden trainset without also buying this too... I have a 3 year old & a 1 year old...it allows the track to stay together even with the 1 year old, whose idea of fun is banging the track on the table. However, without Suretrack or some other way to hold the track together (screwing it down permanently on a wooden table), even when the 3 year plays with it, Suretrack is needed for stability, particularly on the elevated sections, but also on the sections that are flat. I bought 2 packages originally with the 145 piece Melissa & Doug trainset, then I had to purchase 2 more packages after the boys started playing with the set (I put sure track on every connection). Even though this investment was as much cost as the trainset itself, it is essential and is such a better alternative, in my mind, than screwing the wooden track to the table (eventually we may decide to move it around & I wanted that flexibility). Awesome product...I only stumbled across it with other people's reviews, but an essential product, too!!
Saved my sanity! December 14, 2008
A pain to put on and looks ugly but it absolutely works!!! My 2 year old can no longer take the tracks apart or knock it over. Would highly recommend to those with small children who are constantly taking apart your tracks. I have the Plan City tracks and fit perfect.
