Don't let something as inconsequential as nightfall or even total darkness stop you from having fun shooting Nerf projectiles all over the place. This Nerf weapon is built for nighttime maneuvers, featuring eight glow-in-the-dark darts that can either be loaded up for rapid fire or stored on the back of the weapon for later use. Some parts light up with a soft glow thanks to a pair of AA batteries that are required but not included. The batteries don't effect the gun's charging, which is still done by pump action. The range of the projectiles didn't quite reach 30 feet as promised on the box but we still had an awful lot of fun shooting Nerf darts across a darkened room. --Charlie Williams

It is good but the trigger is in front instead of back and it's hard to hold. It is very bulky.

Purchased for an 8 year old. He has enjoyed it non-stop. Make sure you do not use the glow in the dark decals on the darts. It will slow down the dart and sometimes jam. Virtually harmless in the house. No broken vases or other mishaps. He has played with other friends and no injuries. May not be a politically correct toy but who cares anymore. It's time to let kids be kids!
Hard to load November 22, 2008
This gun is very big. It comes with clumsy glow-in-the-dark stickers to wrap around the darts. I recommend the Hasbro Nerf N-Strike Maverick

One thing you HAVE to know about this toy is that the darts do NOT glow in the dark by themselves. I really couldn't believe it when we had to actually put paper on the darts to make them glow. Thought that was exceptionally cheesy for Nerf. Not used to that from them. Anyway, the gun just fires in constant repetition, soars as high as the 24-foot ceiling and beyond, and those darts really stick once they've been dispelled by the gun. It's a ton of fun, no doubt there, but if you're playing in the dark, the light inside gives away your position. Other than that, highly recommend!

The point of the light feature is not cool. If you're in a night war, it gives away your position. Buy the Maverick instead, It's less bulky and is faster to prime. The only thing that separates this from a Maverick is that it's INSANELY comfortable. The Maverick's a better buy for a compact pistol, but if you're defending a fort in Nerf war, this is way better. It's comfortability makes it a great assault weapon, but only when your patrolling a certain area. A Maverick won't do for patrol. You need a strong, fast, and comfortable blaster. A very trusty guard weapon, and it doesn't jam when you're using the RIGHT darts. It also can be easily modded to shoot stefans. Buy if you have tons of patience, if not, buy the Maverick.Hasbro Nerf N-Strike Maverick
