Product Description Chicco Play 'N Ride Train The Chicco Play 'N Ride Train is a kid powered ride-on that helps your child develop muscles and motor skills. Your little one can sit and steer the train anywhere. Train could also be used as a first steps walker while pushing the handle on the back. No tracks could hold your little engineer with this train.
Editorial Review All aboard! This ride-on or push toy (for engineers up to 3 feet tall) is a colorful train with some unique features. On one side of the pretend smokestack funnel is a lever that makes a barber pole spin, on the other a lever that makes a silly squeaky noise. The top of the funnel is a working steering wheel that has a spinning top with colorful balls that bounce and clatter once you push the button. With a tall, removable backrest that doubles as a push bar for beginning walkers--and a seat that opens up to a compartment to hide important treasures--this is a great addition to any rail yard or playroom. --S. Cute but handle comes off and train tips easily...not good as a walker. November 26, 2008 The train is very cute and colourful. No batteries required for this...what a relief!! My 11 month old enjoyed the train. He plays with the shafts and rides on it and all but I wasnt very happy with it as a walker. The handle is not fastened at all. This is very annoying. My son figured very early on to remove the handle. So he just throws the handle away and sits to explore the train! This is disappointing as it can be used as a walker only if he holds on to the handle and pushes it to walk. I was also nervous that if he is trying to pull up on it the handle will come off and make him fall. So the basic purpose for which I got this toy..to be used as a walker was not met. My son uses a very stable wooden push/ride on,a[..]garage sale buy as a walker!! I hope to get better use from this as a ride on...lets see.
go Chicco, go! September 7, 2008 Great product. My 18 m.o. loves it. Wish I bought it earlier, he almost to tall for it. However, it's sturdiness was tested by our 6 y.o. and it failed - the toy got cracks from being pushed around (while leaned on). Overall, highly reccomend it!
Super Durable, Super Fun September 1, 2008 I have come to really love Chicco products for their durability and thoughtful designs. I bought this train for my son's first birthday four years ago. It never worked as a push toy because of its tendency to tip, but I've not encountered a better riding toy. I now have four boys, ages 2 to 7, and my two older boys finally stopped riding on it at ages 5 and 6, over 50 pounds, when I told them no more (because they were hogging it from the littlest one). Even after all the action and abuse it has seen in its four years, it still works perfectly. I don't think I can say that for anything else in our house! It is well worth the money and then some.
I also love the fact that it is battery-free and the only obnoxious sounds come from the mouth of your cute little tike as he is riding it (or fighting for it). My boys have all loved stashing favorite items in the compartment under the seat, but beware - it may be the last place you look for the car keys or your hairbrush, but the first place you should look!
Lasting Ride On August 31, 2008 My son received this for his first birthday. He wasn't quite tall enough to ride it, but all of the fun levers and buttons kept him happy while watching his big brother run and ride on his own toys. He is now nearly two and this toy is still a favorite. It has held up beautifully and my almost 3 yr old son rides it as well. My only complaint is that the handle/backrest/push bar doesn't attach securely to the train so it pulls out, this is most annoying when I'm carrying the ride on across the street and the train detaches from the handle and falls to the ground. Other than that, this is a great toy!
Play n Ride Train August 30, 2008 I purchased this Play n Ride Train for my one year old grandson who is not walking yet. He is able to standup, push and walk with it. He is constantly putting stuff-in and stuff-out of the opening-seat, best is NO Batteries! Great Toy
