Designed to meet the needs of your growing young princess, this unique "grow-with-me" bed easily transitions from a toddler bed to a standard size twin bed. With the Dream Castle Bed, your daughter can spend every night in her own fairy tale dream world. The charming headboard features enchanting twin castle towers and beautiful "stained glass" windows, plus a convenient night light with automatic shut-off. There are lots of shelves and nooks for books, stuffed animals, clock radios and more. The decorative footboard features an opening "drawbridge" table that can be positioned inside or outside the bed and used as a play surface. Raised side rails give your little girl a safe, comfortable feeling, and are wide enough to provide a "seat" for an adult. Bed assembly requires three boards (included) for support and neatly stores the corner and center pieces underneath the bed for the twin bed conversion. Mattresses and bedding not included. i looked for twin beds everywhere. didn't like anything. came across online this bed and loved it. looked everywhere in stores to see if i can find it without luck. prices differ in each store. eitehr the price was right and shipping was just outrageous. i neded up ordering the beds from [...]
they arrived in one week. absolutely gorgeous. easy to put together. this bed can be used as a crib although we have only purchased it for the use as twin bed. i got two of them for my twins. they are absolutely awesome. thank god for made in THE USA products. my kids love them. i got freckles butterly bedding to go with these beds and it is perfect.
just plain perfect beds.
the light bulb died the third day but i am sure my kids have been using it at nights as well. who cares. the beds are awesome

I BOUGHT THIS BED FOR MY DAUGHTER. SHE IS 2 YEARS OLD AND NEVER SLEEPS IN THE CRIB. I PUT IT TOGETHER LAST NIGHT, AND SHE LOVED IT, SHE HAD ROOM TO PUT PICTURES AND BOOKS ON IT. WE READ BOOKS AND SHE FEEL ALSEEP. I COULDNT BELIEVE IT. HER ROOM IS NOT VERY BIG AND IT LOOKS GREAT. I THINK IT IS VERY STURDY. I LIKE THAT THE CRIB MATTRESS IS A LITLLE LOWER THAN THE SIDES SO SHE CANT ROLL OFF OF IT.

We bought this bed 3 years ago for my daughter when she was 2. She is now 5 and still loves it. It has held up to her and her brother jumping, wrestling, and banging around on it. We started out with a crib mattress and then converted it over with a twin mattress. It was very easily converted. We have had to take it apart a couple of times to move it and it is always a breeze to put together again. If any stains get on it I just clean them off with a magic eraser and it looks brand new. The bed is so sturdy and adorable for any little girls room. The little shelves hold her alarm clock, dolls and books to read at night. When her dad lays to read to her at night he puts the drawbridge down to hold his legs. I believe this to be a great investment for a little girls bedroom, because when she does eventually outgrow it there will be a nice resale value to it ( as is with almost all little tikes and step 2 products).

Our daughter (age 2) has hypersensitive hearing (she even knew with a fan running in her room if someone openned a ziplock in the kitchen on the other end of the house ... and could tell us). Anyhow, bedtime always required us to lay next to her, sing to her, etc. Our evenings were never ours. Well, we had put a twin mattress on the floor with a rail on it for her a year plus ago. And, that is what she had for a bed. She asked Santa on his lap for a Castle Bed that she saw at Toys R Us. Santa brought it. We told her that a big girl bed meant we would no longer lay next to her, but would read her a story, then sing her a song, and she was to go to sleep.
Only 2 out of the past 10 nights have gone awry (it turned out she was sick feeling each time, and medicine solved it). And, she doesn't wake us at night, either. It was the best investment we could have ever made. We have our lives back in the evenings together. And, she is a BIG girl and goes to sleep like big girls do.
Simply, if you have a little princess like we do, this very well could be the bed you have been looking for. I think it has everything (including the nightlight that the child can turn on themselves when they need it at night) a little girl deems necessary in a bed. She even uses the built in shelves for her favorite stuffed animals and toys. And, she has a canopy (one of those inexpensive ones) that we drape over the back of the headboard ... then tie to the wall and ceiling to keep it up out of reach.
I HIGHLY recommend this bed for any little girl.

So I have to review to let everyone know I have also had an excellent experience with this bed. My daughter had become completely crib resistant out of the blue. She was spending more time in our bed than in her own room, and we decided it was time to explore other options.
We bought the bed, and while taking apart her crib and assembling this bed she seemed a bit wary. However, tonight she went to bed like an absolutely angel. We read a story by the night light, and she laid down on her pillow, pulled up the blanket and drifted off. No screaming, no freaking out, no throwing anything....such a relaxing experience I do not know what to do with myself.
I want to add that my daughter is only 15 months. She is tiny (like 31 inches), and cruises more than walks. I don't feel she is too young for it or too small. She is comfortable so I am.
Our assembly went quite well. I would say it took about 30 minutes, and we had no problems with parts or items not fitting. I will say it is a two person job and that a power drill makes it a lot easier.
I definitely recommend this great bed!
