Great for the true Star Wars fan! January 10, 2007 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
If you know the movies inside and out, this game is fun for the dedicated fan. I play with my son that knows so much more Star Wars trivia than I do but find the game enjoyable. The only minor annoyance is when you land on a pie question too many times, the DVD portion of the game runs out of questions and tells you to use a question from the card deck. Not sure why they could not load up more questions on the DVD but maybe the game is not intended for a poor old Mom that answers so many questions wrong!
This game is a must have, but don't buy online!! September 6, 2006 I read all the reviews of this product and almost didn't buy the game until I saw it on sale for 19.99 at Toys R Us and couldn't resist. I AM SO GLAD I DID. If you are a Star Wars fan (which I assume you are if you're looking at this game) this game is a must have. Sure some of the questions are easy but some of the questions are extremely difficult (but considering the fandom obsession with star wars even these questions may seem easy).
To prove my point here is a sample question that I though was very hard "Who is Darth Sidious talking about when he says 'I don't want to see this stunted slime in my site again'?" Most people would initially think Nute Gunrray but it's actually the Nemodian standing next to him whose name I still don't recall. The only way anyone could possibly know this dudes name is if they studied the books.
Next a lot has been staid about repeat questions. The game comes with 3 decks of cards and I played the game 3 times the first set and only had 1 or 2 repeat questions. As far as the DVDs go, they are set up for 20 games. That is to say you can play 20 games before you will get any repeat DVD questions. That's not as extensive as the Scene It games but that's still A LOT of questions for only 6 films of material. Overall this game is a must have for casual and obsessive Star Wars fans alike!!
For a Group July 29, 2005 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
I'm a big fan of both Star Wars and games like Trivial Pursuit and Scene It?. However, I must stress that you should only spend your money on something like this if you know three other people who feel the same as you do about it. The geeky types that like to test each others knowledge of Star Wars. Otherwise, you'll be hard-pressed to get your money's worth out of it, because it's not that worth it to the less geeky types who think it's silly to sit around discussing facts. If you can't tell, I've had a hard time getting people to play this game with me. They seem to think that I will definately win and that it's not worth playing to find out.
Also, I was slightly dissapointed in the choice of pieces to play as. They were all jedi. And it's also slightly difficult to tell them apart.
Overall, I enjoyed the game, but can't get anyone to play it with me.
A Great Game for 'Star Wars' Fans! June 1, 2005 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
This is a great game! The DVDs really make it come alive. I couldn't imagine this game without the music, images, film clips, and other various forms of dynamism of the DVDs. The game is great fun and will teach most people a great deal about Star Wars.
A word of caution is in order, though. If you would never call yourself "a Star Wars fan," then you probably will be able to answer only a handful of questions during any particular game. In fact, even the most "diehard" fans are likely to find a few questions that will leave them scratching their heads.
The most fun you'll ever have being horribly annoyed May 24, 2005 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
Full of fabulous facts about the saga, this game is the hardcore Star Warrior's dream....AND worst nightmare. You'll have fun playing it at home but get fits from your friends who bring it out with a big smirk, saying, "Okay, now, let's see how much you REALLY know about 'Star Wars'...." May The Force Be With You, you'll need it! Hee hee
