Product Description Become a pop princess with this Barbie "Jam with Me" Karaoke Guitar. Perfect entertainment for parties or sleepovers, this rockin' guitar comes with four steel-like strummable strings, lights, a whammy bar, control knobs and different play modes. And with a special "jammin'" feature, your little diva can play chords along with recorded music. She can even put on a big show by connecting to your home stereo or amplifying system. Plus, with a sing-along headset microphone and function modes with LEDs, young rockers can use auto power mode to save the battery life. Guitar requires 4 "AA" batteries (included). Comes with two cartridges. Measures 25" L x 12" W.
Editorial Review Rocker girls can have a serious jam session with this electric guitar endorsed by number one cool girl Barbie. Definitely a toy rather than a real kid-sized instrument, this guitar has buttons along its neck instead of strings that emit different sounds in each of the four modes. When set to Strummin' mode, each button produces a different guitar riff against an electropop backbeat. In Guitar mode, buttons each make a single echoing string sound and Jammin' interjects background noises, such as cheering crowd sounds or comments from Barbie (such as "What a star!" and "Wow!), while girls strum the strings. (Parents, hold your ears for both of these modes!) Finally, the Karaoke button plays one of three top 40 hitsDestiny's Child's "Survivor," Hilary Duff's "Come Clean," or Christina Aguilera's "What a Girl Wants." Girls can plug the included headset into the guitar and sing along with their favorite stars or create their own lyrics to self-composed tunes. Separate volume controls for the guitar and microphone ensure that vocals won't get drowned out by the loud music. Girls can also alter the sound by adjusting the echo or bending the pitch down with the whammy bar. Other song cartridges are available separately with different song selections. This guitar operates via four "AA" batteries or a jack that plugs into a home stereo or amplifier and is covered by a one-year limited warranty. --Cristina Vaamonde

The Most Annoying Toy In The World November 17, 2008 My kids love this thing. Particularly my 3 year old son who is an aspiring rock star. His sister, for whom it was purchased, only uses it occasionally.
I HATE this thing. It is the most annoying sounding toy to have ever been in our house. It's grating, loud, repetative, etc. It makes me want to poke out my ear drums. When the kids are using it my husband and I make faces of agony, illness, and death across the room at each other. It is truly that annoying.
The guitar has handled quite a few drops so it's not as though the quality is terrible. However, I kind of wish it would suffer a fatal blow so that we can get rid of it. We do everything we can to keep it out of sight and out of mind. The headset is worthless and doesn't stay on.
Buy it if you dare.
great toy for kids August 30, 2008 this guitar is very intertaining for my grandaughter she loves it the place i bought it sends it out very quickly
Where Can I Get Cartridge #2? March 30, 2008 I Have 3 kids, 7, 5 and 2, and they all enjoy the Barbi Kareoke Guitar. The only problem, as with others commenting, is that we hear the same 3 songs over and over again. The cartridge that pulls out of the side has a '1' on it, which would lead one to believe there is a cartridge 2 or even a 3 (I hope). Does anyone know how to get additional cartridges? I've looked on line have found nothing.
Here's how to use the headset... December 30, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
The top of the headset needs to go behind the neck. If you wear it this way, it should fit almost anyone. My husband, 4 year old daughter and I can all wear it with no problem this way. My daughter absolutely loves this guitar and the songs aren't the same anyone, so they are more appropriate for little girls. This is by far one of the best toys that we got for my daughter for Christmas! Definitely recommended.
Nice guitar December 30, 2007 She is only 3, but thrilled to have her own guitar after seeing the barbie diaries previews. It's a neat product, works great, but the headpiece is too small to fit across the top of her head, not sure how it is suppose to stay on, but it doesn't stay on well. A lot of nice features for the price. mic works great too.
