This gun rack will attach to either composite or metal rack. This is the only ATV weapon carrier that will hold any kind of gun/bow combo. How you ask? Because the shaft height is adjustable. Also, great to carry shovels, rakes, long handle axe, because it is 23.5 inches long. Rubber straps are such quality that they will not let the weapons move and they will not dry rot like cheap bungee material. Though the carrier system can be mounted to the front or rear rack, most folks attach the carrier to either side of the rear ATV rack. Or to the rear rack double bar. (see pictures below)This is much safer if an ATV were to accidentally flip over. Mounted to the the rear rack, the carrier could also possibly aid you or prevent a full flip over. It might keep the ATV from laying on you. Some ATV weigh 1,000 pounds.But the main thing is you do not want the carrier to hit you in the face in an accidental flip over, so we don't suggest mounting carrier to the front rack.
